Google Virtual Tours now available
We are now ‘Google Trusted Photographers’
Back in September 2012 Google rolled out their new concept in the UK: taking Street View inside. Trusting just a handful of photographers per area, Google would like consumers to be able to wander in and out of businesses as they walk along the streets in Street View.
There are far more wider reaching advantages of having a Google virtual tour though, for a start the virtual tour is linked to your Google pages (Google+/Google Local) so when consumers perform a local search such as ‘Brighton Salons’ a salon with a Google virtual tour will be more visible, more likely to be highlighted in the top 7 pinned results and will have a ‘see inside’ link. From this link the consumer can literally walk through the door into your premises and take a look around, all from the comfort of their PC, tablet or smartphone.
The virtual tour can also be embedded on a business website or even on a facebook post, not only a talking point but a real differentiator. You want an Indian meal. 2 local indian restaurants show up on your google search, you can walk inside one and have a nose. The other one you can’t. Which would you choose?
Only Google’s trusted photographers are permitted to upload virtual tours to Google. Gary Hector of Hector Media Ltd has undergone training and accreditation in the processes and has already created a number of Google virtual tours for businesses in Sussex such as the tour of Arena Menswear in Worthing, below.
